Default Birds feeding at night?????

Hi

Do birds feed at night time? i don't think they did but wanted to ask you guys?

I'm pretty new with feeding birds ect but going to rally give it ego feeding and help the wildlife!

As a rule the vast majority of birds that you are feeding in a garden will go to roost at dusk. At night the ground under my feeders attracts alot of small mammals which brings in Tawny Owls (and cats) but that depends on where you are.

Some falcons have been known to hunt at night in urban areas because there's light from the street lamps etc.

Did you see that piece on TV, Autumnwatch I think, where they played a recording of a tawny owl to coal tits and found they spent twice as much time feeding just before it became dark, than with no predator sounds?

It was most interesting.
