Shamal - those are just amazing photos! I would never have believed it!

On the subject of herons, one particular heron family nearly drove a hotel proprietor mad! The hotel is next to a heronry and one day the proprietor found an undernourished juvenile (abandoned) raiding his dustbins! Proprietor takes pity and saves fish and feeds young heron - he was even caught teaching it to fly! Story ended well, Herbert the Heron, flourished and became a parent! The snag was, of course, that Herbert taught his offspring that choice fish were available at the neighbouring human hostelry!! The proprietor decided that he wouldn't be quite so generous to the obviously well-fed offspring!!:)

Got to agree those are amazing, I had no idea a heron would even contemplate such a meal.
