My favourite regular is the Blackbird, however I have new visitors in the Goldfinches and I like them because they are colourful and infrequent

Favourite has to be Goldcrests, lively and bold. Always nice to hear their high pitched squeaks.

I know the one that I don't like too much

Robin, murderous little birds that have resulted in several deaths of other smaller birds in the garden (witnessed) and two deaths of other Robins (one witnessed) They may look cute perched on a garden fork but the mind of a psychopath lurks inside.

I like most birds - after some postings, I'm sure you know the one I like least, but even then pigeons are a fascinating work of evolution. Have you seen the way they drink? Not dainty like the rest of the birds, but beak in the water and gulp it down. They even produce "milk" for their young too. All birds have some good qualites, even if it is hard to find while they are destroying other life or crops.

As for my favourite, it is a difficult choice. I like long tailed tits, but then wrens are amazing - such a deafening noise coming from such a tiny bird!

I like the bluetits they are soooo busy just now searching for tiny caterpillars in my apple tree, not good for the tree but I dont mind it still produces more than enough apples to see the blackbirds through the winter.

I hate Magpies, they turn me into this crazy woman who rushes out into the garden waving a tea towel to stop them attacking nests and young. I should learn though they always come back

My favourite bird is the nuthatch. I love watching them creaping up and down the oak tree looking for caterpillers. THey are also regular visitors to my feeders and have nested in the same nest box for several years.

My favourite bird has to be the Kingfisher. I've been walking down a local river to watch them, but all i ever see is a quick vivid flash of blue.
Thats closly followed by the Long Tailed tit. I love to watch them feeding in the trees.

Mine would have to be the robin. Or the bluetit. Or the blackbird. I love their song.

I guess it has to be the sparrow. This is because in 1971 I had never seen any bird (being myopic) and someone lent me a pair of eye-aching, ten-ton 20 x 50 bins, and I peeped over the window-ledge with them - and there they were: sparrows on the lawn, and their backs were golden in the sun, like damask. I couldn't believe what I'd been missing. So what if they just go cheep cheep cheep cheep cheep cheep cheep cheep cheep cheep cheep. There are none here in my village now. What have we done?

My favourite birds are wagtails. They strut up and down round the edge of the fish pond and when we've cut the grass they are right behine the lawn mower picking up all the insects. They are so cheaky and are frightened of no one.

My favourite visitor is the goldfinch - bright, lively and stay around long enough for me to get a really good peek;)

My least favourite are the crows that fly overhead. They don't even have to enter the garden to scare off the smaller birds:eek:

Don't blame the crows ;)

Little birds will often be scared of anything bigger than them, just in case it's a sparrowhawk for example. From down below, it's difficult to work out what that large shape that just flew over you was!

As long as the crows have a reasonable supply of food, they shouldn't bother your birds. They'll only take sick ones if their food is in short supply. They'll take eggs in the same situation too, but only if the nest is obvious and accessible.

Having crows in your area can be a good thing, as they'll scare off other predators such as raptors.

Mine has to be the Blackbird- such a beautiful song, and each one different! - it never fails to make me stop and listen.

They're very cute as babies too. Here's one of a couple I'm rehabbing at the moment.

1st one is before/during feeding.
2nd one is just after.

Baby birds essentially eat, sleep, poop, and make noise ;)

I am new to feeding birds and have been surprised by how much I am enjoying it. My sister, who encouraged me to start feeding the birds, if getting fed up receiving phonecalls saving I have just seen a ............. :)

although i love all the birds which visit my garden, and some of them are very pretty, my favourites are the dunnocks. these little birds are very shy and are ground feeders, but i have 3 which are regulars. one in particular is quite a bit smaller than the other two,and is often the only bird feeding after everything else has gone to roost. although at first they look to be quite plain, when you look at them through binoculars they are very nicely marked.

I can't decide.
I like the way the blackbirds run.
I like the way the robin follows me round the garden.
I like the blue tits as they are so cute the way they twitch their head around.
I like wrens because they are so cute and full of song.
Goldfinches are the best lookers and will hang around for ages feeding on niger seed.
Chaffinches look like they can never decide where to land.
Nuthatch is a cool bandicoot in disguise.......... I could go on ;)

My favourite has to be the robin, followed by the bluetit. Both are so lovely to look at and the bluetit colours at the moment are so bright and clear.

My favourite is the Hoopoe. Its beautiful coloured feathers and gorgeous long beak. When I first saw one I thought I was dreaming, so much beauty. I love all the sparrows and tits we have and love the song thrushes but for pure elegance you can't beat it. There back again now until the Autumn, but are difficult to photo as they are very scared and won't let you get too near.

My favourite bird is the Coal Tit.

I just love the way he pops on and off the feeder so quickly, especially if the Geat Tits are around.

I just think he is a bird with attitude.

When we moved to this bungalow 3 years ago, the bush in the front garden was alive with sparrows, now we have hardly any  . We do have loads of greenfinches though.

I love all birds, even the sparrowhawk that sometimes pays us a visit. Fingers crossed we havent seen him/her this year yet.
