Sorry to post so many messages but have just found this site and there's some good tips and advice on it. :o
My lawn (!!!!) has a lot of moss and bog cotton etc. in it but something the last couple of weeks has been removing the moss growing round the pond overflow. Now it's been WET, very wet, so I can't see it being pinched for nest linings and can't see any paw prints, but now have section of moss some two foot long varying from 6inches to one foot wide gone! Any ideas?

I've seen Grey Squirrels roll up grass like this, though I suspect there may be other culprits.

Wrens and blackbirds - the sparrows are too busy pinching bits of fleece on my veggie patch!

Shamal, good idea, but no squirrels on island and no records of them. We've been turned down for providing red squirrel sanctuary at present, but that may change.
Kerry L - blackbirds sound good - I've half a dozen pairs come in to feed and dispute territory!
Just had a tip from friend with same problem - hoodies (hooded crows) are also guilty!

Well the blue tits and sparrows are number one in my garden as they are stripping the hanging basket linings from last years baskets. Although it's been wet they will still pick it.
