They're Here. (think little girl from the film Poltergeist)

Inevitably they have eventually turned up in my garden, a pair of them at the moment but I know there will be more and more.

regards,
Shamal

Shamel - How gorgeous to have those in your garden.

Great photo! I hope those aren't your cherries he's eating!

Interestingly, I just had a visit from a parrot-type thing. Red, yellow and green hookbill. I'm assuming he's escaped from someone's living room, and has found just the right place where all the other birds eat - my garden!

Seeing a parrot being chased out of the garden by a blackbird was easily the thing I least expected to be seeing today :D

Thanks.
I can manage 2 Rose-ringed/Ring-necked Parakeets, but it is when you get 20+ of them screeching away that they begin to lose their appeal.

Unfortunately they are my favourite cherries being gobbled up, although they don't ravage the trees as much as the dreaded Starlings.

The Parakeets are quite comical and seem clumsy in everything they do (except flying) but despite their awkwardness, they always succeed in what they are attempting.

Shamal

I've just discovered this thread.

I know just what Shamal means!

I live about 1/4 mile away from one of the main roosts in Surrey where there's estimated to be about 6,000 Parakeets.

They are regular visitors to my garden and I currently have 15 on the feeders every morning and evening.

During the late Spring until about early August, the young are constantly begging for food with ear-piercing shouts at the parents.

The only birds that seems to chase them off are the Great Spotted and Green Woodpeckers!
