I have four bird baths. The Blue tits only use the inverted dustbin lid suspended in the Apple tree.
Safe from Cats and providing a quick escape:)

That fits - we have one official Bird Bath which the Birds like their food put in and they use next doors "Flat" garage roof as a bird bath !!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol twitcher have you flipped yer lid ? hehe great idea and better than recycling the plastic. what next i ask ? maybe the bottom of the bin for an ostrich nest, sorry just joking. good idea.

I was going to use it for Herons but I can't cut two holes in the bottom for them to put their legs through!:D

We have fish pond int he garden. As we have grandchildren the pond has a mesh cover for safety. The birds love to wander on the mesh and stand around the fountain and have a shower flapping their wings. Some bids even stand on the filter spout for a drink. Even though we have the official bird bath they tend to prefer small bowls of water around the pond & garden these seem better for small bids to bathe in. Its fun to watch them splash about. Eveny the new baby one have dip too.

No Piranhas in there or Crocodiles I hope !

No its sounds lovely and I bet its a treat to watch. You can't beat just looking out the window watching it all happen, can you ?
