As most of you now know a strain of bird flu has been found in scotland does anyone know if they will be trying to vaccinate the osprays as they are mirgratory birds?. Sorry about the spelling.

No idea myself but you could email the RSPB. They'll be sure to know and they respond within a couple of days which is quite quick for a big charity.

I think it is highly unlikely. Capturing an adult bird will be more likely to be a cause of it's death than the minimal chance it has of contracting avian flu.

They are not sociable birds and they have a diet of fish, so the risk of them catching it or passing it on is extremely remote to say the least.

I think they will not eather theres a lot of birds comming hear swallows and house martins just keep ower fingers crost

True, lets hope that things go ok and we dont have to much trouble with it. i guess my worry is that evil people will use it as an excuse to kill birds. afterall people have used worst reasons to destroy other creatures. Thanks for your mails.
