I know starlings can be a bit of a pest when they come in mob handed and scoff everything, but I still think they are quite handsome birds.

What a lovely photo. Without a doubt they can be quite attractive, BUT they are a pain too, when they pinch all the food that you put out!!:)
This starling posed in the clematis and I couldn't resist taking its photo.:D

I came home to a flock of about 20 this afternoon. They were a sight to watch but I did have to refill the bird table and hang out another suet block!! Suet blocks are definitely their favourite, but they are also partial to the songbird mix on the bird table.

Great photos! The mealworm beak kebab is one I'm familiar with too!

I bought mealworms because robins and blackbirds love them but no-one told ours and the starlings scoffed the lot - all eight tubs!!!

You have to laugh at their cheek, don't you?
Great photos of them with their beaks full!!

I think they are quite delightful and such characters. They make me laugh at their cheeky antics and they are just like a load of little children squabbling and yelling at each other! I like to watch them when I put food out - one goes in the bird bath and they all have to follow pushing and shoving! One finds a titbit and they all come running over to see! I could watch them all day!

A starling cannot stand the thought that another starling may be having a better time than he, or perhaps is enjoying food without him! Funny little creatures :)
