I like Jackdaws, always have :) Clever but funny as well and I love those pale blue eyes.

Lovely pic! Do I detect a flash reflected in his eye?
Jackdaws are lovely birds. Very cheeky, but clever and cute too. One of the 'nicer' members of the family corvidae.

I hadn't realised their eye's were as pale as that (don't know why) - lovely clear picture.

That really is a superb capture. How did you get it so sharp? I really struggle with that. Also what was the lens used?

Excellent capture Shamal Just the right amount of fill to bring out the feather detail.
Cheers,

Fantastic photo!
I had my own close encounter with a jackdaw on Easter Monday. I've met someone through another forum who rehabs birds, mainly corvids, and who had picked up a jackdaw that was obviously very tame, and had been landing on kids in a school playground! Anyway, he took a shine to me, and spent most of the time while I was sitting on my friend's sofa flying onto my knee, making his way up my leg, fuzzing his head up and demanding cuddles! Naturally, it was impossible to resist (especially when he'd nip your fingers if you were too slow!), so snuggles were given. He's an absolute adorable chap, and if our house were less chaotic I would have loved to give him a permanent home.

Thanks everyone, yes a bit of flash, the birds are oblivious to it ;)

Stability is probably the key here. The lens is a very big white one with a 2x teleconverter

That's great to see, Maisie. As with all Crows, they are so clever which makes them even more endearing and responsive. They haven't the same nest robbing inclinations as most other Crows, which helps their public image no end.
