To attract Long - Tailed Tits to the feeders, try the insect peanut cake. I regularly have a pair coming to the garden, and groups of Siskins flock in too. :) (they like the nyger seed, peanuts and hi - energy seeds). They are both quite tame; is this because they have only recently started visiting feeders, and so are not used to humans?

This is the first year we've had Siskins in our garden (the goldfinches must have let slip about the Nyjer feeders), and they do seem to just carry on nibbling away even when we go outside and the other birds fly off in a panic.

I have had siskin in my garden this year for the first time but they only came once. I seem to be getting a number of first timers but they havent come back. Brambling, pied wagtail. redwing and willow warbler. The latter arrived last year with a flock of long tailed tits also first timers but they do occasionally come back.
