Which picture to choose.....

This picture was taken nearly a year ago - the only time I saw this Green Woodpecker. I love this one as he looks really mean. I would love for him to return.

Very nice shot of a super bird. You can see this chap has his eyes on you ;)
I hear these birds often enough (and a very exotic sound they make) but they rarely turn up in the garden.

I remember his arrival vividly. A flash of red and green landed in next door's tree when I was in the conservatory. I looked up and froze. Where's my camera? In the loft room, two floors up. I pegged it up two flights of stairs to get it. When I returned it was on the lawn pecking away. I think I read that they like ants and there were quite a few in the garden so can only assuming it was lunching on them.
