Hi. I bought some striped sunflower seeds and it is very slow to be eaten by the birds visiting my feeders. Rather than have this go off and have to throw it away would you recommend me mixing it in with my squirrel feed. I know squirrels like black sunflower seed so I'm assuming they might like the striped variety as well. What do you think - yea or nay?

Well, no advice then. One of my squirrel feeders has just become empty so I will put some in along with the peanuts and black sunflower seeds and find out for myself!

I don't get squirrels thankfully so I can't offer advise but from what I've seen on the tv I would say try it and see coz they seem to eat almost anything.

Jabber: Have done just that. Filled my two squirrel feeders with a mix of peanuts, black and striped sunflower seed. Will check tomorrow for tell-tale signs of husks on the ground.:)
