Pied Wagtail and fledge

My wife kept mentioning a 'grey' bird in the garden. I hoped it was the Blackcap returning but it was most probably this Pied Wag fledgling. I captured it eventually (on camera of course), purely accidentally as usual.

We get one or two Pied Wagtails quite often - never actually clocked a fledgling.

That's the first one I've 'seen' as well. We have pieds here, but I've never seen their young. Great photo :)

My message didn't quite come out right - it was late!

Over the past couple of weeks my wife has been commenting on a 'grey' bird. On Monday I managed to catch it in the apple tree. This is the shot I meant to attach, but before I did I 'discovered' earlier shots (2 July) of it with a parent. Posted those, forgot this one!

oh wow! beautiful photos and experience. I've never seen wagtail young, either.
