See our products in action before you buy!
Our new feeder webcam is now live and available online to view at www.birdfood.co.uk/webcam (http://www.birdfood.co.uk/webcam).
As well as showcasing some of our popular wildlife products including feeders and water baths, our webcam also allows you to do a spot of bird watching even when your away from the garden!
If you see anything unusual on the webcam that you want to share with others, or have any questions or suggestions for our webcam, we have created this brand new section when you can do just that.
Happy viewing!

Excellent! Although there's few sadder sights than an empty feeder with a bird on looking into it.
House Sparrows galore, Great Tit and maybe a Greenfinch is all I have seen so far. My own feeders are more active but I'm hypnotically drawn to the CJ webcam ;)
Shame the webcam hasn't a screengrab facility so if we do spot something exotic, we can post it to the forum. I have seen that facility with African waterhole webcams.
A bird table in-shot would be nice, maybe give a bit more variety?

Shamal

Yes, I can watch these types of feeder cams for ages. I saw plenty of sparrows, but in my garden they would need to put in a bit more effort on the feeders, because I remove the perches.
A great tit was investigating the peanuts in the squirrel-proof feeder.
Excellent pictures though. Is the switching between feeders done automatically?

If it isn't, someone at CJ deserves a medal... and physiotherapy :)
Must be 20+ House Sparrows at times, CJ HQ has to be a paradise for these birds, think of the seed spill around there!
The nut feeder is a new one on me, saw a Blue Tit and Great Tit on it.
My G-S Woodpeckers wouldn't be amused by the anti squirrel cage.

Those seed feeders are definitely in need of a refill! Nice to see the tits on the peanuts - I also have a nut feeder with an anti-squirrel guardian, and regret the fact that it does put off the G S Woodpeckers. It's fallen out of favour since the spring, so is currently not hung up. However I have in the past seen it being enjoyed by all the tits that come to our garden, including long-tailed tits - quite funny seeing them get around inside the cage with their tails in the way!

I refilled all my seedfeeders this afternoon - someone needs to follow my example!!

Ha, ha. But I thought that because it was moving from one feeder to the other rather than just cutting "tv-like", it might be operated remotely by users via the internet.
I have seen web cameras where the viewer gets about 60 seconds and can move it themselves, zoom in and out, etc.

Earlier on today I couldn't get the live web-cam views, only a couple of stills with one of those irritating revolving thingies permanently in action!

Thank you for this Jandy. I have checked and our technical team are aware that there is a problem and are busy working on this, hopefully it will back up in a few days!

Still a problem with the web-cam! The current view is of (I think) a hedgehog house, and nothing is going on at all.

Hi there
Apologies, we are still experiencing technical difficulties with the web cam and are working to fix this as quickly as we can.
Thank you all for your patience.

CJ do stock a hedgehog house, Penna (P.92), and so do the RSPB in their catalogue, but neither of them look like the one on the web-cam.

Hi, Lisa - I look forward to being able to see the web-cam in action again, but I have to say, just now when I tried it, and clicked in the centre of the view (ie on the rotating disc), I got this, which I don't understand at all:-

Looks to be a super site, Penna, but unfortunately the idiot computer won't let me upload anything at all at present (ie Silverlight) due to an ongoing mix-up with the admin password, which I really will have to get sorted when I have the time. Can't get i-Player either, so am really browned off. Am planning to descend on the local Apple shop and make them shake in their shoes!

:) Go for it Jandy...
My computer has often been threatened with a swift flight over the garden fence if it wasn't behaving :D
Carnyx is a great site for wild life.

Not only can I not get Carnyx (due to being unable to download Microsoft Silverlight - yes, I know, I still haven't sorted that problem!) but now I can't even get the CJ webcam - that is assuming it's working again! Apparently I need something called "Flash Player v 10 or above", problem ditto! I wonder why CJ changed this, when you used to be able to see it with just one click?

Hi Jandy
Unfortunately the CJ Webcam is still offline. We are talking with the techies again today to get some idea when this will be fixed and I shall let you know when its back up and running, at that point if anyone is still having any technical difficulties we can have another look and advise accordingly.
Sorry again for the inconvenience with the webcam, we have some lovely new stainless steel feeders (http://www.birdfood.co.uk/products.php?area_id=2&nav_id=211) that we have just launched which we really wanted to get on the camera this week for everyone to have a look at.
Thank you for your patience.
Jandy

Does this mean, Lisa, that even if I had got the Flash Player download installed, I still wouldn't have been able to see anything? At least in that case I wouldn't have missed out on anything watched by everyone else!

Hi Jandy
No unfortunately the camera is still not working but I have had an email today saying that they are looking into it.
Will keep you posted.

Hello
Good news!! The web cam is back online. :)
Bad news!! The birds are eating the food so quickly at the moment that they have managed to empty a large feeder of food since it was filled at the feeding station this morning!
So we are almost there!
We appreciate your patience and once we get some more food in the feeder which I think someone is on their way to do very shortly, there should be plenty to see!
Any questions, as always, let me know.

Hi Pine Martin
I have gone back and let the techies know it is offline again this morning :(.
Sorry again, all seemed to be back up and running yesterday!
We are on the case and hopefully will be back on line very soon.
We will not be beaten!

Unfortunately, Lisa, now that this has been changed to Adobe Flash or whatever it's called, I can no longer bring up the live webcam at all, as I don't have Adobe. I currently have a problem with downloading anything, so I would have preferred it to be in the previous format.

Got a picture of a tray on a chain. And this never ending circle chasing itself round and round. So my guess is it wont go live for me at least.

Hooray, folks! The expert has been and gone, and virtually 100% of previous problems eradicated. I had no trouble downloading Silverlight, and have just been accessing the webcam successfully. Carnyx, however, seems to be a different matter. Though I've now got Silverlight OK, it seemed to indicate that I had to register, and when I did, the wording of the form seemed to expect me to be some sort of business. However I registered OK, they sent me an email, but when I got back to their home page it still said Download Silverlight, and when I clicked on the first webcam shown, South Stack, absolutely nothing happened! Fancy joining you, Penna, chucking the computer out of the window!

Not for me I'm afraid - is there a cut-off time for live and then it shows pre-recorded footage?
All I see for the last couple of weeks/times I looked, is the same woman watching some coal-tits feeding from a fat tube.

Just been watching the live web-cam - amazing no of sparrows, queueing up to go on the feeder! Wonder if it's the same soggy weather we are getting here at the moment in London!

Just had a quick look. Lots of sparrows, just a shame the feeder is empty. Guess they will have to wait until tomorrow for a topup.

Don't know how you all are seeing Sparrows etc. I'm seeing a message indicating 4 viewers but the footage is as it has been for a long time now - the same woman sitting in front of a feeder watching Coal tits, a little later changes to a squirrel. What gives Lisa!

That is politely put Jandy, I am not so nice about it...............
It is a poor show when you pop onto the webcam and the conqueror feeder is still empty, I, like others are surprised and disappointed when a company like CJ cannot keep their feeders up to scratch.:mad::mad:

Many thanks for letting us know about the webcam. We did spot the feeders were empty yesterday and have sent word to get them filled up again. As you may have gathered it actually comes from our colleagues in Holland so reacting quickly enough to problems can take a little time Do please bear with us, we are working to improve the service.

Great news Rowena
Even bird Feeders feel the effect of demand at times. Lots of food = lots of birds = empty Feeders.
No worries there

Oh, dear, we're back again to square one, the woman with the goofy smile. I think the 'live' should be dropped from the name 'Live Webcam' altogether! I do like the barn owl, though - maybe we could have him as a full-time understudy instead of her!
