Hi Emma
Like you I am equally excited. I have fed birds in the garden for many years but this year I invested in a nestbox with camera. I sited it on the side of my house, above the feeding stations, near to a tree that hangs over from next door. I didnt expect anything to happen this year but was thrilled when a couple of Blue Tits started investigating the box just weeks after I put it up. I now have new residents and 9 eggs! They are days away from hatching and I cant wait!

Yay! I have just noticed that an egg has hatched! The first one! Father is busy catching caterpillars and mother is gently trying to feed it.... omg...

Hi Emma & Milo
Its great to see the eggs and then the chicks hatch. My pair, well I like to think of them as mine, have ten eggs this year. The first one hatched on Thursday and the last one yesterday. I was so lucky to be viewing when the last one hatched. The egg cracked then Mrs. B broke off bits of shell then she picked up the last bit and tipped the chick out. She then ate the shell. I hope they all fledge but it seems a lot of mouths to feed.
I have been providing medium size mealworms since she started laying but changed to mini ones yesterday. I thought the smaller ones would be better for the chicks but I think I have got it wrong. They aren't interested in them but a pair of great tits are taking them back to their nest.

Hi Mobee
There is 7 chicks, all doing well and growing so quickly! Its amazing to watch. I have been trying to put out live mealworm but the Starlings are just devouring them by the beakfull... grrr. I invested in a cage type feeder but to date havent seen any of the smaller birds its designed for using it. I hope they do before the chicks fledge!
