Good Lord! It's snowed South of Watford Gap :-)
Nice pics. I like the last one particularly.

Yep - for the second year running too. It still astonishes me how we grind to a halt with the meerest hint of a slippery road down here, still, a day off and some great walks around Salisbury Plain.

We've been lucky, East of Nottingham, we haven't had nearly as much snow as North or South of us. Of most concern has been the terrible state of footpaths. Most of them are solid ice that has been there for the best part of 2 weeks..

What beautiful images, makes you forget just how dangerous and disruptive this white stuff is. I'm only too sorry I've not been well enough to get out and take shots like these ;).
Well done !!!!
Best wishes
Mike B :)

Mike,
Thank you for your kind words.
I'm sorry to hear you've not been well. Hopefully you're not to far from a window which has a bird feeder on the other side and the hungry little critters have been giving you at least some some entertainment.
Today, as the snow has now frozen on top, I spread some wild bird mix on the ground (two good scoops full) and we had eleven - yes eleven - Wood Pigeons at once! Although the Chaffinches also appreciated this, most of the small bird action continued on the feeders and fat balls.
We have been mobbed by Gold Finches, Sparrows, and Starlings and the Doves, Jackdaws, Blue Tits, Great Tits, Coal Tits, Long-tailed Tits and, of course, the Robin have all put in appearances.
Hope you are well again soon.
Jack

Have belatedly caught up with your lovely photos of snowy Wiltshire, Jack, and as my other interest is country churches, would be very interested to know where the one in your picture is. Great pic of the Woodpigeons as well, specially as through the window.

Thanks for that, Jack. We also collect postcards of churches, and as it happens we have one of Milston, a nice-looking church on the minute side.
