they're excellent little monographs - serious enough to be interesting to the intelligent birdfeeder, but unstuffy enough to entertain the general reader. i've got two of them (wren and bluetit) and it's made a difference in how i arrange my garden for them, and in how much i understand what i'm watching through the window. enjoy.
