Am so excited!! I peeped into our nestbox this morning and saw mrs robin sitting on her nest. I am new to this - do the robins lay their eggs over so many days? Does she leave the nest to feed or does mr. robin supply her with food? Any advice would be helpful please.

Hi Diane,
Our Mrs robin was fed by Mr robin, whilst she laid 6 eggs over a period of about 4 days, but did leave the nest occaisionally, thats how i knew there were eggs in the nest

Noticed yesterday that mr and mrs robin were away from nest round about 6.30. This evening I was on serious bird watch. Mrs. robin was in her nest. Mr robin appeared on the fence at 6'30 and went in front of the nestbox as if to say "are you coming out tonight for a meal". He flapped his wings several times and out she came. Both flew to the fence and looked around. There was a wood pidgeon in the garden, so mrs robin went back to the nestbox to check. Out she came again and they both disappeared. I checked the nest and there were 3 eggs visible. 10 minutes later she returned (think he may have gone to the pub!!) Is nt nature lovely??
