Hello
I'm new to the board and live in London.
I was wondering if anyone has ever seen Brambling in London and if so, where would be the best place and month? I read that they come over from Scandinavia in Autumn?
Thanks for any advice.

Although they arrive in the Autumn, Brambling tend to appear here in the south in late winter and early spring.
It depends if you are in central London or more out in the suburbs but a Brambling or two are quite likely if you put out regular and fairly large quantities of seed on the ground that attract larger groups of other finches (notably Chaffinch) in late winter and early spring.
They will come up onto a table but often prefer to feed on the ground. Keep a close eye on flocks of chaffinch, it is easy to miss a Brambling or two amongst them.
