house sparrows

Hi everyone,
A few months ago I had some cheeky Robins feeding in my garden, but now i have about 30 to 40 house sparrows. I hardly ever see any robins. Have they been scared away by the sheer number of sparrows or will they return later in the year?

Robins don't tend to go far, so it is a surprise you haven't seen any sign of one for a while. The House Sparrows definitely wouldn't scare off a Robin, there are few birds as agressive as a Robin.

Robins and House Sparrows do not have much overlap on the food, Robins preferring 'wriggly things' and Sparrows are mainly seed eaters, so there isn't much need for conflict between the two.

I think it would be safe to assume that your garden will not be Robinless for too long.
