Our biggest resident squirrel i have seen this morning is not really using his front right leg. there is a lot of fur missing and looks sore. i wander if i should set up my squirrel/ rat trap? i have this as my previous house was over run by rats so we resorted to trapping them, but it says its a squirrel trap as well. a live one of course lol ;) I assume the local wildlife vet would look at his leg? my partner says if it gets worse & it cant climb he would shoot it humanly. I have DEFINATLY said NO!!! advise please he looks so sad.

If you take it to a vet, they will put it to sleep. Squirrels are classed as vermin.
That's assuing you could catch it, of course, but if you can, best take it to a wildlife hospital rather than a vet's practice. Your nearest is:
HART Wildlife Rescue

think i might set up the trap tomorrow morning with a tasty fatball in it and hope for the best ive seen the 2 young ones fighting up the oak tree but the big one keeps his own space so what would attack a squirrel?

Possibly just fallen out of a tree Sarah. They do misjudge it sometimes.
