Members might be interested in our blog. We've installed eight cameras in boxes around our garden in the last few weeks, and our feathered friends have already been checking them out ...

Hi
Great site, thank you for sharing. I also live in Telford and havent seen a Jay this year but saw one last Autumn. Have also started noticing some Long Tailed Tits in the area for the first time in the last few weeks. I look forward to more pics and news on your site.
Thank you for sharing.

Hi Peter, many thanks for the link. Have found it to be very interesting. Now come the questions.
How do you manage to get a single shot.
How will you get to process from dvd-video recorder to digital form on your computer.
I ask because am thinking along the same lines but not nestboxes.

Lisa and Pine Marten !
Lisa first; many thanks for taking the time to post - there's another story on there already and could be yet more as another Blue Tit has started taking an interest in a second nest box.
Pine Marten,
For now i'm cheating. The images you see are snaps of the tv screen. Once the DVD recorder is connected, it should be possible to use some sort of movie maker software to take a single frame from the image file on disk. (there is a util bundled with Windows Vista. Once i've determined the method, i'll post the results here.

Hi Peter, Ulead do pretty good software but is £50 + have been looking at it. Can do a trial download i believe. Is a lot cheaper than some professional Suites which can run into several hundred.

Hello Pine Marten,
I couldn't fine the software you mention, but i've located another one called 'ActiveCam' which was about £15. I'll give it a go, and write back with the results !
